Zumi

Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 8, 2026

1. Who we are

Zumi is a mobile app that reads pet-food labels and scores what’s in the bowl. It is developed and operated by Dana Nehmeh (“we” or “us”). This policy explains what information Zumi collects, how it is used, who helps us process it, and the choices you have. You can reach us at hello@getzumi.app.

2. Information we collect

3. How we use your information

We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell it.

4. Information we receive from Google

If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture. We use them only to create and identify your account, to sign you in, to contact you about your account, and, as described in section 2, to understand how the app is used. We do not use Google user data for advertising, we do not sell it, and we only share it with the service providers listed below who help us run Zumi. Zumi’s use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

5. Service providers

We use the following providers to run Zumi. They process information on our behalf and only for the purposes described here:

Some of these providers are based in, or process data in, the United States. Where your information is transferred outside the EU, it is protected by the safeguards these providers offer, such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

6. What other users can see

When we approve a product submission, the product’s details and a photo of its packaging may be shown to all Zumi users. We never show who submitted a product.

7. Permissions

You can revoke either permission at any time in your device settings; the features that depend on it will stop working.

8. Retention and deletion

We keep your information for as long as you have an account. You can delete your account at any time in the app (Profile tab, “Delete account”) or by email; see the Delete your account page for exactly what is removed and what is kept. Product information you contributed stays in the catalog without any link to you. Temporary accounts created during setup that never become a full account are deleted after 7 days of inactivity, unless they have a purchase history.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you can ask us to access, correct, delete or export your information, and you can object to or ask us to restrict certain processing. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. To use these rights, email hello@getzumi.app. If you are in the EU or UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Zumi changes. We’ll change the date at the top, and tell you in the app about significant changes.
